"The project: Design a bespoke solution to send fresh air cooled to 18-20°C via air displacement diffusers specially developed for the premises and positioned at man-height."
Context
The Carreau du Temple becomes the Media Center for the Paris Olympics 2024. For the comfort of journalists, and against a backdrop of potential heatwaves, the Paris City Council requested cooling for the building, which until then could only be heated.
The Prochalor and Cap2i teams therefore developed an air-cooled direct expansion system, which is modular and integrates :
- Evaporator coils with drop separators integrated into existing AHUs
- Condensing coils located in the extract air network
- Two cased units containing compressors, refrigeration components and electrical protection and control panels
- All-new-air regulation with INVERTER compressor control for better control of power variation
The modularity of this solution, which complements existing AHUs, enabled Prochalor to install all the equipment while preserving the emblematic structure of the Carreau du Temple.
