An overheated sector
Computers, internet, web, smartphones, social networks, cloud, artificial intelligence, big data... All these inventions, linked to technological innovations and evolutions in consumption, have contributed to anincrease in the amount of IT infrastructure in use.
However, all information technology (IT) naturally generates heat, which is linked to the consumption of electrical energy by its electronic components. In the event of overheating, this equipment runs a number of risks.
Digital transition & energy transition
Cooling solutions are therefore essential to the operation of these numerous IT structures. Nevertheless, in a complex context of digital and energy transition, data centers must comply with a set of key directives, at French, European and international levels.
Indeed, data centers consume a considerable amount of energy, representing 3% of global consumption today, with a forecast of 10% by 2030.
Faced with these challenges, European regulations are imposing ever more stringent requirements in terms of energy efficiency, with a target of carbon neutrality for data centers by 2030. To achieve this goal, it is essential to optimize energy efficiency right from the design stage, particularly in terms of cooling, which accounts for the bulk of energy consumption (around 40%). Solutions such as integration into local energy schemes, the use of renewable energies and heat recovery are promising ways of reducing the environmental impact of datacenters.
Issues to consider
In a sector where the only constant is change, everything evolves very quickly. Equipment is becoming smaller, more powerful and more numerous. Questions of energy and ecological responsibility are on the increase. Taking all these issues into account, CAP2i designs air-conditioning solutions that are eco-responsible, reliable and resilient.
Special ambient conditions
Temperature fluctuations can cause thermal stress on components, reducing their service life.
High humidity promotes corrosion and condensation, while low humidity leads to electrostatic discharge.
Suspended particles can accumulate on electronic components, damaging them and leading to breakdowns.
From the smallest to the largest spaces, CAP2i offers customized cooling solutions tailored to the needs of datacenters, server rooms and IT premises. See also thermal solutions for quantum computers or oil bath solutions for immersion cooling.
