Cap2i is a partner in the most innovative new generation of Thales radar defence systems

The new generation Ground Fire 300 radar, fully digital and equipped with the new AESA antenna technology, performs surveillance and air defence missions simultaneously. This military equipment detects and tracks all types of missiles, including ballistic missiles, with unmasked coverage of 360° in azimuth, up to 90° in elevation and within a 400 km radius. Highly compact, mobile, air-transportable and deployable in less than 15 minutes, Ground Fire 300 radars will perform their missions in the highly complex environments inherent in defence.

With over 20 years of experience in the defence industry, we have been chosen to design and develop the liquid cooling system for the radar's electronics. Working in co-development with THALES, we were able to produce a cooling unit solution optimised for the compact and mobile characteristics of the equipment.

The combined expertise of the teams has made it possible to define and qualify in the laboratory high-performance thermal solutions (existing in the industry) in the most severe climatic and electromagnetic conditions. These qualifications guarantee optimal performance of the radar in these environments.

The importance of radar availability has contributed to the development of a Cap2i smart program equipped on our PLC allowing the machine to be operational when the thermal sensors are no longer functioning. By analysing the available data, the program calculates the information that the thermal sensors are no longer able to provide. This allows our solution to provide extremely accurate thermal regulation and control in the event of sensor failure. In addition, some components work in redundancy to ensure the continuity of the radar cooling. The design of our solution also allows for rapid maintenance interventions to ensure the availability of the Ground Fire 300.

We are continuously involved in the technological evolution of the defence sector with the latest industrial thermal innovations. This allows us to offer dedicated high-tech solutions that withstand all extreme environments (sand, snow, wind, hail, temperatures, etc.) with intense thermal performance and precise regulation to meet the severe constraints of the defence application.
